Research group

In many ways, the research group has served as the "nerve center" of the project as it fulfills a number of tasks central to the project. Among others, these include coordinating the work of the contributors, managing communication and workflow among the contributors and the various partners involved in the project, developing and maintaining this website -- together with the Goettingen Digitization Center (GDZ), creating facsimile pages and electronic text editions of a large number of constitutional documents, research and development of the final electronic and print versions of the project, and, of course, contributing documents and editions -- mainly the constitutional documents relating to the United States. Based at the University of Kassel, Germany (English pages here), the group regularly consists of five scholars and up to six research assistants. It is led by Professor Horst Dippel, the initiator and director of the project. A team of four research associates is responsible for the various elements involved in the management of this project. We are supported by up to six graduate student research assistants, who carry out a diverse number of tasks in all of these areas.
